The David O. McKay Foyer
The David O. McKay Foyer is a historical site for Brigham Young University Hawai‘i. Elder David O. McKay attended a flag-raising in Laie in 1921 and envisioned a school to make Laie the LDS Church's spiritual and educational center in the Pacific. In 1951, McKay became the president of the Church and started preliminary work to establish the university in Laie that he foresaw. Now the foyer is the home of the College of Language, Culture, and Arts and the David O. McKay Center for Intercultural Understanding. |
